Bluestep

In February 2008, Englefield acquired a majority holding in Bluestep Capital Holdings Ltd, the largest specialist mortgage lender in Sweden. Bluestep provides mortgage products to borrowers who self-certify their income, have adverse credit histories or for other reasons have difficulties accessing the mainstream mortgage market. As a specialised lender, Bluestep distributes its products predominantly through a direct-to-borrower channel driven by marketing and also by accepting referrals from a network of partners consisting of real estate agencies, debt collectors and banks. Bluestep is led by a management team with extensive experience in consumer finance and wholesale funding and is considering expansion into related areas and geographies.
