Englefield Capital and Electra Partners Europe have entered into a definitive agreement for the institutional buy-out of Global Solutions Ltd for £207.5 million

GSL is Group4 Falk's UK based facilities management division, and is a leading provider of outsourced support services to public authorities. It is also a leading player in the growing PFI and PPP outsourcing market. The acquisition will initially be funded by equity jointly from Englefield Capital and Electra Partners Europe.

GSL's service offering covers the following three areas:

  • Custodial services; prison management, escorting, immigration, custody and training
  • Business services: utilities, office accommodation and other managed services
  • Public services; healthcare, education and Local Authority services

For 2003 GSL's turnover was circa £300 million and it employs approximately 8,000 people.
