Joy Bainville

Joy Bainville - Joy joined Englefield in 2006. Prior to that, she worked for three years in the investment banking division of Morgan Stanley, where she focused on M&A and equity transactions. Joy graduated from HEC in France, majoring in finance.

 
Adam Barron

Adam Barron, Founder Partner and Joint Head of Europe - Adam has over ten years experience in private equity at Warburg Pincus, Goldman Sachs and Englefield Capital. He is a specialist in investing in financial services businesses, including insurance, specialty lending, consumer finance, asset management and back office processing for financial services companies. Adam, who speaks six European languages, graduated from Cambridge University in 1991 and has an MBA from Insead Business School. Adam sits on the Englefield Management Board.

 
Edmund Buckley

Edmund Buckley, Partner - Edmund joined Englefield in 2003. Prior to joining the firm, he spent three years in the investment banking division of Morgan Stanley. Edmund graduated from Cambridge University with an MA in History.

 
Aleem Choudhry

Aleem Choudhry, Principal - Aleem joined Englefield in 2008. Prior to joining Englefield, Aleem worked for four years at Friedman, Fleischer & Lowe, LLC, a middle market private equity firm focused on North American leveraged buyouts. Prior to that he worked as a summer associate in the investment banking division of The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. and for three years in the investment banking division of Wasserstein Perella & Co. Aleem graduated from Stanford University with a BS in Physics and a minor in Economics and also holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School.

 
Dwight Cupit

Dwight Cupit, Partner and Chief Financial Officer - Before joining Englefield, Dwight was the Finance Director of eVolution Global Partners, a start-up venture capital firm sponsored by Kleiner, Perkins, Texas Pacific Group and Bain & Co. He previously spent 11 years at Arthur Andersen. He is an Australian Chartered Accountant and graduated from Monash University, Australia with a Bachelor in Economics.

Michele Fontana Sabatini - Michele joined Englefield in 2008. Prior to that, he worked for three years in the investment banking division of Merrill Lynch, where he focused on M&A and corporate finance transactions. Michele graduated from Bocconi University in Italy with a degree in business administration and has an MBA from the Wharton School.

 
Edward Hyams

Edward Hyams, Partner - Edward formed the management team to work with Englefield on the Zephyr transaction, and subsequently joined Englefield in 2005. He has worked in the energy industry since 1970 and has held senior positions in several companies. Edward is a Chartered Engineer with a degree in electrical engineering from Imperial College and has a post graduate qualification in accounting and finance.

 
Patrik Johnson

Patrik Johnson - Patrik joined Englefield in 2005. Prior to joining the firm, he had been at Credit Suisse First Boston since 2004 and previous to that at Avantus Corporate Finance, Stockholm. He graduated from the Stockholm School of Economics with a degree in accounting and financial management, and also completed studies at the university of St. Gallen, Switzerland.

 
Jack Langdon

Jack Langdon - Jack joined Englefield in 2006. He was previously with Mercer Management Consulting in London, where he worked in a range of industries, primarily financial services, over the course of two years. Jack graduated with a degree in history from Oxford University.

 
Edmund Lazarus

Edmund Lazarus, Founder Partner and Joint Head of Europe - Edmund joined Englefield from Morgan Stanley Capital Partners where he was a member of the firm's global Investment Committee, having spent his prior career advising on M&A, equity and debt transactions at SG Warburg and Merrill Lynch. In parallel with his professional career, from 1992 to 2000 Edmund was a publicly-elected official on Westminster City Council, the city government of central London, latterly as Deputy Leader and Chairman of Finance with operational responsibility for €750 million of annual expenditure. Edmund graduated from Oxford with a degree in politics, philosophy and economics. Edmund sits on the Englefield Management Board.

 
Robert Maclean

Robert Maclean - Robert joined Englefield in 2008. Prior to that, he worked at Ferranti Capital, working on turnaround investments in the industrials sector. Previously he worked for five years at Goldman Sachs in global investment research specialising in the European TMT sector. Robert Maclean graduated from Oxford University with a Master's degree in engineering science.

 
Nico Marx

Nico Marx - Nico joined Englefield in 2008. Prior to joining the firm, he worked in the investment banking and fixed income divisions at Citigroup where he focused on private equity transactions and proprietary investments. Nico graduated from Erasmus University in the Netherlands with a degree in business administration.

 
Peter Mead

Peter Mead, Partner and Vice Chairman - Peter, in the late 70s founded Abbott Mead Vickers, now the biggest advertising agency in the UK. In February 1999 Omnicom Group Inc acquired AMV plc and Peter became a Vice-Chairman of Omnicom, the largest communications company in the world. He is Vice-Chairman of the NSPCC – Full Stop Cruelty to Children Appeal and past Chairman of the IPA (advertising's governing body). Peter sits on the Englefield Management Board.

 
Olivier Morali

Olivier Morali, Partner - Olivier joined Englefield in 2006. Previously, he was at Apax Partners, where for five years he focused primarily on healthcare investments throughout Europe. Prior to that, Olivier began his career as an auditor at Arthur Andersen. Olivier holds a PhD and a doctorate in biology/biochemistry from Paris University and is a graduate of the Ecole Normale Supérieure.

 
Jerome Mourgue D'Algue

Jerome Mourgue D'Algue, Partner - Jerome joined Englefield in 2003. He has multi-sector investment experience with a strong bias towards financial services and education and training. Previously he was with Morgan Stanley Capital Partners in London. Early in his career, Jerome was with McKinsey & Co, where he was mostly involved in financial services. Jerome graduated from ESSEC in France and received his MBA from the Wharton School. He is a certified French Actuary.

 
Florian Schick

Florian Schick - Florian joined Englefield in 2006. Previously he was with McKinsey & Co where he had worked since 2003 in the private equity practice. Prior to McKinsey, Florian was a member of the management board of Surplex AG, an innovative provider of asset recovery solutions based in Germany, which he co-founded in 1999. Florian is a law graduate from Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich and received an MBA from INSEAD.

 
Dominic Shorthouse

Dominic Shorthouse, Chairman and Managing Partner - Englefield's investment philosophy stems from Dominic's experience at Warburg Pincus from 1988 to the end of 2000. One of three founders of that firm's London office, Dominic was part of a small team which invested more than $2 billion in more than 50 private equity transactions in 12 different European countries. In 2002 Dominic started to put together the small team which became Englefield. Dominic graduated from Oxford University with an MA in Latin and Greek literature and philosophy and has an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business. Dominic heads the Englefield Management Board.

 
William Temple

William Temple, Partner - William joined Englefield in 2003. Prior to joining the firm, he was in the investment banking division of Merrill Lynch from 2000 to 2003 where he worked in the financial sponsors group. William graduated from the University of Bristol with a degree in economics.

 
Jan Unverhau

Jan Unverhau - Jan joined Englefield in 2004. From June 2002, he was with Credit Suisse where he was involved in corporate finance, project finance and M&A advisory work. He received his degree in business and financial economics from the Universität Witten / Herdecke, Germany.

 
Malik Vorderwuelbecke

Malik Vorderwuelbecke - Malik joined Englefield in 2007. Previously he was in the investment banking division of UBS where he worked in the global industrials group. Malik grew up in Berlin and graduated from Stern at New York University. He received his Master of Economics from the London School of Economics.

 
Frederik Wijsenbeek

Frederik Wijsenbeek, Partner - Frederik joined Englefield in 2003. From 1999, he was at Securitas Capital in New York and London, where he focused primarily on the financial services industry. Frederik graduated from Stanford University with a degree in political science and economics.
